  • A build file compiling, through the glass table I noticed, from the corner of my eye, a grey form rushing along the baseboard towards me and a web-like copse of chrome-plated stems. Leaning forward, I saw the spider, behind a “5 Days a Week” planner/mousepad at my side. Not finding a disposable cup, I nonetheless won the chase.

I have admired watching their evening descent, provided they remain on the other side of the glass wall, during a summer evening. Breaking this spatiotemporal boundary, a new transparent enclosure is delimited from without. Perhaps, had I opened the screen more often, they would have been kept busy weaving and re-weaving webs. With this, the second known invader, diplomatic relations, between me and the spiders, are certainly strained.
